Sarees by Season Since saree is the traditional wear of almost all Indian women, there are various types of sarees available in the Indian market depending on the season. It is not possible to wear a heavy embroidered silk saree in summer or a cool cotton saree in winter. For example:
  • Summer Sarees: When we talk of summer, we need to wear something which is light and confortable. Summer sarees are soft, comfortable, easily manageable. Summer sarees can be used both for daily wear and office wear as well as formal wear. Summer saris can be of cotton, chiffon or any other fabric. Cotton daily wear saris are much into demand during summer. A must-have in summer is a handloom saree. Summer sarees are available in designs ranging from ethnic chic to traditional to modern prints.   • Winter Sarees: Synthetics and heavy silk sarees are preferred in winter. These sarees are generally in dark colours as dark colours absorb heat. The dark coloured silk and synthetic sarees make the breezes bearable in Winters.
  • Spring or Fall/Autumn Sarees: The spring and the autumn are the best seasons in the year. These seasons are neither cold nor hot but very pleasant. As such any kind of saree is suitable.The sarees can be of any fabric from from cotton to silk, to chiffon to georgette with variety of patterns and designs on it. Since certain festivals are celebrated during these seasons, many fancy, designer, embroidered sarees, sarees with zari work are all available during this time.
