Party Wear

When we talk of parties, there are birthday parties, marriage, marriage anniversaries, kitty parties, official parties, family get togethers and so on. Indians celebrate any kind of festive occasion with great zeal and enthusiam. In any occasion, every one wants to look their best. There is emergence of variety of dresses both Indian and Western in the market, but for party wear, Indian ladies still prefer to wear a saree. Salwar kameez and lehenga cholis are also preferred party wear but the design varies according to occasion.

For party wear, heavily embroidered ghagra cholis with sequins and other stones are not always preferred. If it is a sangeet ceremony, ladies go for pastel shades with light embroidered lehenga cholis. Generally, the fabric is georgette, crepe, chiffon, net and sometimes silk. Even the cotton bandhani printed ghagra cholis are preferred.

Indian formal or party wear salwar kameezes are generally made up of a silk, satin, crepe, chiffon and georgette fabrics. The party wear Indian salwar kameezes decorated with embroidery and mirror work is very feminine and graceful. Indian party wear salwar suits come in many different styles. Some prefer to go for short kurtas with intricate embroidery and mirror work. Many could afford more intricate brocade, tanchoi and heavy satins even with real gold and silver embroidery, studded with precious stones. Chikankari, Zardosi, Bandhej, Phulkari, beaded sequins, mirror work and block cum handprints are all time favorites among the ladies. Some ladies prefer fusion wear like sleeveless top style kameez with long slits and deep cuts or spaghetti kurtas to give a modern look.
